The TIE / sk x1 Experimental Air Fighters (simply known as the TIE Striker) are a series of Imperial Fighters featured in the Star Wars movie, Rogue One. They are twice the size of regular TIE Fighters. The TIE has flat, pointed wings that are specifically designed for combat in the atmosphere. It is also useful for transporting supplies and personnel from orbit to the planet's surface, thanks to a larger central akato. Although designed for atmosphere, it could also operate in space and accompany traditional TIEs. Equipped with advanced high-speed wings, it is faster than the standard TIE and features an extra pair of laser cannons. The attached proton bomb launcher is effective against vehicle units, causing heavy damage on a large scale. The TIE striker is able to gain speed by bending its flat wings, changing from flight mode to attack mode.
