The Ford Model A was the second commercial success of the American automaker Ford, after its predecessor Ford Model T. Production of the Model A began on October 20, 1927 and was launched on December 2, 1927, for the 1928 season. It replaced the Model T, which remained in production from 1908 to 1927. This new Model A was available in four factory colors. The model was offered in a wide variety of bodies, from the introductory roadster, the 2-port Tudor (in gray, green, black or red exterior color), to the top Town Car, with a different roof covering between the front and rear seats. In March 1930, sales of the Model A reached 3 million and were then available in 9 body versions.
