The BB-8, sometimes spelled Beebee-Ate, is an Android BB unit that operated about thirty years after the Battle of Endor. It had a vaulted head, similar to that of the R2 series, with most of its body consisting of a ball on which the droid's head rolled. The BB-8 was mostly white, with silver and orange on the body, as well as a black photoreceptor. The droid belonged to the pilot of the Resistance Poe Dameron, who accompanied him during his flights with his T-70 X-wing fighter.
